Dining Etiquette

Dining etiquette

There is a high premium placed today on perfection in every facet of our lives. We must take care of ourselves, we study languages, we continually learn and travel. We are interested in culture and visit luxury restaurants. But let’s ask a simple question:
How is our dining etiquette?

Each of us surely recalls some personal experience that can labelled a social faux pas – something that happened at the table at either a family gathering, a company dinner or in the course of a working lunch. Our knowledge of proper table etiquette is unfortunately limited to basic rules taught us by our parents in early childhood. But will these be enough to handle an 8-course working dinner with foreign partners or a lunch where shellfish, Japanese sushi or Korean kimchi are served? Definitely not. After all, we often don’t know what foreign dishes look like, let alone how to eat them.

Our goal is to help you gain confidence and knowledge in the area of dining etiquette. Perfect mastery of proper dining etiquette will help you manage with ease any private or working event connected with dining. Not having to think about how to get a shrimp out of its shell or how to handle a crayfish cracker will give you more time to devote to the conversation and enjoy the atmosphere.
